HACC, Central Pennsylvania’s Community College, is committed to offering an array of programs in the arts. The College offers the following programs:
Recently, HACC has begun to implement a software upgrade that will allow our financial aid systems to better comply with federal financial aid guidelines set by the U.S. Department of Education. Federal guidelines state that courses not included in a student’s degree are not eligible for financial aid.

As a result of our software updates to ensure compliance, the fall 2018 schedules were reviewed to determine if there are courses currently listed that are not part of degree programs. Several art courses, along with courses in other disciplines, are not listed in any academic program and thus are not being offered in fall 2018. No decision has been made to permanently remove these courses from the electives that are offered on a rotating schedule.

HACC is taking a broad approach to our course offerings. Many elective courses across a range of programs are typically offered once per year or every other year. Additionally, we have begun exploring ways to expand our noncredit art offerings through our Workforce Development and Continuing Education Division.

The art-related courses that will not be offered in fall 2018 are:
  • ART 102, Silkscreen Printing
  • ART 152, Ceramics II
  • ART 191, Glass
  • ART 214, Advanced Glass
  • ART 216A, Advanced Crafts: Glass
  • ART 216B, Advanced Crafts: Ceramics

HACC continues to offer a variety of art courses that may be used as program requirements or electives, including:
  • Beginning Digital Photography
  • Ceramics I
  • Drawing I
  • Drawing II
  • Fundamentals of Three-Dimensional Design
  • Fundamentals of Two-Dimensional Design
  • Jewelry and Metal Design
  • Painting I
