HARRISBURG, Pa. – An exhibition of photographs by Alida Fish will be presented virtually on the Rose Lehrman Art Gallery webpage of HACC, Central Pennsylvania’s Community College, from Oct. 12- Nov. 5, 2020. 
 
Fish is known for her still-life work using manipulated photo processes that feature scenes with a mythical whimsy. She says, “…The impulse to populate and control an invented world has led to photographs of sculptures that appear to metamorphose into living flesh, plants that emerge as heroic in their struggle to exist, and curious objects that are a testament to the wonders of life on this planet.”
 
Fish’s photographs have been exhibited in many galleries and museums. She has received numerous grants and been sponsored as a resident artist by U.S. and international institutions. She serves on the Board of Trustees for Penland School of Crafts in Penland, North Carolina, and is Professor Emerita at The University of the Arts in Philadelphia. She is represented by Alan Klotz Gallery in New York City and Schmidt-Dean Gallery in Philadelphia.
 
Fish will conduct an artist lecture via Zoom on Oct. 28 at 5:30 p.m. The lecture and virtual exhibition are free and open to the public.  
 
The Rose Lehrman Art Gallery received state arts funding support through a grant from the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts and the National Endowment for the Arts.
