Applications are Being Accepted Until April 2!

Feb. 15, 2023

HARRISBURG, Pa. – An anonymous alumnus at HACC, Central Pennsylvania’s Community College, contributed a generous six-figure gift to fund full-ride scholarships for at least 10 students.

The life-changing HACC Academic and Workforce Development Full-Ride Scholarships will cover all HACC-related expenses - including tuition, books and fees - to allow students to focus on completing their degree, certificate or diploma. Unlike loans, full-ride scholarship recipients do not have to repay the money.

Linnie Carter, Ph.D., APR, HACC’s vice president of college advancement and executive director of the HACC Foundation, said, “HACC’s donors are incredibly generous. We are blessed to have the support of thousands of donors - individuals and organizations - throughout our community. This particular donor is extra special, because they are a HACC graduate. They loved their experience at HACC and went on to have a very successful career. When pondering how they could make a positive difference in Central Pennsylvania, they immediately thought of their alma mater. Because of this generous alumnus, at least 10 students will complete their studies at HACC for free. What a life-changing gift! In light of the crippling college loans that many Americans have to repay, at least 10 students will leave HACC with an invaluable credential but owing no money. To that, we say HACC yeah!”

To be eligible to apply for a HACC Academic and Workforce Development Full-Ride Scholarship, continuing and future students must meet eligibility requirements, including living in one of the 11 Central Pennsylvania counties served by HACC and being enrolled in a qualifying program.

Applications are being accepted now through April 2, 2023. To learn more and apply for full-ride scholarship, please visit hacc.edu/AWD.

In addition to the full-ride scholarships, the College is #HACCproud that our tuition remains less than the average full-time tuition at nearby four-year schools. Thanks to the HACC Foundation, we offer thousands of dollars in scholarships each and every year to help students reach their dreams with us.
