HARRISBURG, Pa. – Thanks to a new transfer agreement between HACC, Central Pennsylvania’s Community College, and Harrisburg University of Science and Technology (HU), students will be able to earn their associate degree while pursuing their bachelor’s degree. On March 3, 2025, HACC and HU held a public signing event to celebrate this new reverse transfer articulation agreement.

This partnership will benefit students who have transferred from HACC to HU without first earning their associate degree. While earning their bachelor’s degree at HU, these students will be able to apply eligible credits back to HACC. As they work toward their bachelor’s degree at HU, these students will also be able to earn their associate degree from HACC.

Roberto Marti, director of career development and transfer services at HACC, said, “This partnership reinforces our commitment to student success by providing more opportunities for them to earn an associate degree while continuing their education. Students will be able to maximize the value of the credits they’ve already earned.”

He continued, “This agreement marks an exciting step forward in supporting student achievement and strengthening our educational pathways. We look forward to seeing our students benefit from this opportunity.”

In addition to transferring from HACC to HU without an associate degree, eligible students must meet all degree and GPA standards set by HACC.

HU Interim President, Dave Schankweiler, added, “By providing continuity that recognizes their progress at both institutions, we’re empowering students with greater mobility, stronger credentials and enhanced career opportunities with a reduced financial burden. Education should fit students’ lives, not the other way around. This partnership allows them to learn and live on their own terms.”

Students who meet these requirements and are interested in this opportunity can contact transfer@hacc.edu, or visit hacc.edu/transfer for more information.
