Current Students, #WhyHACC? Tell Us Why!

Current students, why did you choose HACC? What do you love most about Pennsylvania’s first and largest community college?

Starting in January 2018, you have the opportunity to participate in our #WhyHACC social media campaign to help show others why HACC is the #HottestCCInTheUniverse.

And, guess what…you may even win a $100 Amazon gift card AND a HACC Yeah T-shirt for your participation!

How It Works

• Each month from January to June 2018,  HACC will share a question on its collegewide Facebook page (Facebook.com/HACC64) and Twitter account (@HACC_info). The hashtag, #WhyHACC, will be included with the question. Throughout the month, you will see the same question to encourage participation. Some questions will be shared via video while others will be shared as text.
• When a #WhyHACC question is posted, share a video or written statement to answer the #WhyHACC question. When creating and sharing your video, please:
  • Answer the question in the video
  • Keep the video to 20 seconds or less
  • Do not whisper.
  • Find an area that is well-lit.
  • Be as creative as you want while respecting others and HACC
  • Add a post to the Facebook page or tweet at @HACC_info (You don’t need to do both.)
  • Include #WhyHACC and your first and last name in the text when posting your video (Example: #WhyHACC? I’m Betty BooSue and I’m especially grateful for HACC’s dedicated employees who continue to push me to make dean’s list each term.)
• #WhyHACC must be included in your post/written response on social media.
• You may answer every month if you wish. Your name will be put in the monthly drawing.
• On the last day of every month from January through June, all of the names of those who answered the #WhyHACC question that month AND followed the guidelines will be entered into the drawing for the Amazon gift card and HACC yeah T-shirt.
• The name of the winner will be announced on social media within five business days of the drawing. A total of six $100 Amazon gift cards and T-shirts will be awarded throughout the campaign.
• A HACC employee will contact each winner via your HACC email to outline next steps for receiving the gift card and T-shirt.
• By participating, you give HACC permission to use your name, statement and/or video in college advertisements and in publications, including, but not limited to, newsletters, social media and website.
• All current students, except those who are also HACC employees, are eligible.
• All participants are expected to be courteous and friendly and respect the guidelines of HACC.
• HACC reserves the right to remove any participants' posts or comments that are abusive or dishonest.
• Each participant is responsible for his or her own safety.
• HACC reserves the right to not award any participant that is disrespectful, abusive or dishonest to students, employees or the College.
