Meet Stephen: Becoming His Best at HACC

A friend suggested that Stephen enroll at HACC, and he is glad he accepted that advice. He said, "Don't let anybody fool you. HACC is a fast-paced environment. You get out what you put in."
Stephen enrolled in the Human Services Program and said the College has assisted him in surmounting obstacles, including helping him to come out of his shell. “Talking with the Welcome Center and guidance counselors helped ease my concerns, tensions and stress,” he said. “Accepting that there is help and resources for improvement has been a struggle [for me], but HACC is helping me come out of my shell to accept what I can when it is presented.”
Since beginning the program, HACC has improved Stephen’s life in several ways. He has benefitted from the support and influence of his professors and peers and has found that every day is a chance for “me to improve my communications and be at my best.”
Stephen added, “There is none other like HACC. Lots of challenges and demands thrown from all directions to be your best at all times.”
After graduating, Stephen said his goal is to "Find a workplace where I can improve communications and stabilize good work conditions."
