Dr. Gregorio Pedroza, renowned bilingual Latino storyteller and motivational speaker will visit Harrisburg Area Community College Tuesday, November 19 through Friday, November 22 for special sessions and performances. Events will be held at HACC's Wildwood and Gettysburg Campuses.

The public is invited to a number of events throughout the week. Dr. Pedroza will share his world of imaginative, interactive stories, blending English and Spanish as he draws from literary stories, Mexican myths and legends.

Dr. Pedroza's original work is varied in style. At HACC Dr. Pedroza will perform stories with in which every word begins with the same letter of the alphabet. Other stories-some poignant, some humorous-are about growing up in a Texas barrio, working in the fields, surrounded by a large, extended family including grandparents who spoke only Spanish. Readings and recitations from Dr. Pedroza's book of poetry, My Glow Days, are about coping with chronic pain.

Other published works include a book of love poems entitled We We? Oui!, and a collection of short stories, Stories from the Heart/Cuentos con todo Corazon.

Dr. Pedroza's visit to HACC begins Tuesday, November 19, when he will lead an open session for HACC students and the public from noon to 1:30pm in Cooper Student Center room 204 on the Wildwood Campus in Harrisburg.
