The Rose Lehrman Arts Center on the Wildwood Campus of Harrisburg Area Community College announces Artistic Innovation, the Performing Artist Series for the 2003-2004 season. The distinctive list of events features the best in cutting-edge contemporary dance, world-influenced music, classic and innovative theater and high quality family shows.

"Our season of extraordinary, professional offerings is unmatched in the region," says Teri Guerrisi, Director of the Performing Artist Series. "We welcome patrons to join us for truly engaging live performances in our intimate, comfortable theatre. From hip-hop dance, to jazz for kids, from Shakespeare to salsa, we've got something for everyone."

The Performing Artist Series in date order is as follows:

Aquila Theatre Company London/New York in Othello by William Shakespeare.
Sunday, October 5 - 3pm. Sponsor: HACC Alumni Association. Media Sponsor: Central PA Magazine.

Plena Libre - the new face of Puerto Rican plena and salsa.
Thursday, October 23 - 7:30pm. Sponsor: Prudential Securities, a division of Wachovia Securities, LLC.

Michael Cooper - Masked Marvels and Wondertales.
Saturday, November 15 - 2 & 4pm. Sponsor: PSECU. Media Sponsor: Central Penn Parent Magazine.

Rennie Harris Puremovement - Hip-hop dance to a higher power.
Friday, November 21 - 8pm. Sponsor: HACC Student Government Association.

Jazz for Kids, with a Jingle - featuring David Leonhardt Jazz Group.

Patrons can join the Friends of the Rose Lehrman Arts Center membership and receive a number of special benefits, including center section reserved seating, advance notice of upcoming special events, a listing in the season's event programs, additional information and invitations to selected art gallery events, A Note to Our Friends newsletter, and an invitation to the annual Friends' reception.

The Performing Artist Series is supported by grants from the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, the Mid Atlantic Arts Foundation, the National Endowment for the Arts Regional Touring Program, the National Dance Project of the New England Foundation for the Arts, Pennsylvania Performing Arts on Tour, and the Franklin H. and Ruth G. Wells Foundation.

The Rose Lehrman Arts Center is also the site of theater productions by HACC TheatreWorks, and HACC Theatre for Young People, concerts by the HACC Wildwood Chorale, gallery exhibits, lectures and more.
