Want to jazz up your Thanksgiving table with some new recipes or learn to make mouthwatering Italian desserts from an Italian chef? These are just a few of the culinary demonstrations offered this month on the Harrisburg Campus of HACC, Central Pennsylvania's Community College.

Non-traditional Thanksgiving Sides, a hands-on demonstration class, will be offered Sunday, Nov. 14, 1-4 p.m. Cost is $75.

The class will spend a fun afternoon learning some great new ideas for side dishes including twice-baked sweet potato with cranberries and pecans, garlic herb stuffing with roasted vegetables, sugar snap peas with shitakes and roasted shallots, gratin of carrot, parsnip and apple and Chevre mashed Yukon Golds. Participants will receive eight different recipes and have the opportunity to prepare a limited number to taste.

Mouthwatering Italian Desserts (Dolci), a demonstration and sampling class, will be offered Saturday, Nov. 20, 9 a.m.-noon. Chef Moustafa of Nonna's Italian Restaurant in New Cumberland will share some of his family's recipes. Cost is $55.

This class is directed toward those with a sweet tooth, and a variety of desserts will be featured including Tiramisu, Crème Carmel Custard, and the chef's own rice pudding.

Early registration is suggested, as class size is limited. Information may be obtained by viewing the Community Education Courses online at the website below or by calling 780-2587.
