earn more about the ever-expanding field of medical insurance billing during a free information session at the Gettysburg Campus of HACC, Central Pennsylvania's Community College.

The free information session Jan. 6, 7 p.m., at the HACC Campus at 731 Old Harrisburg Road, Gettysburg, will explain the program components, as well as industry demand for trained technicians.

HACC's Medical Insurance Billing Technician Certificate program is composed of six professional training core courses and one elective designed to prepare individuals for careers in medical billing, coding or claims processing. Individuals are trained in medical insurance billing procedures, coding techniques, medical terminology, reimbursement calculations and computer applications.

HACC's certificate program provides high global take-away value, since the acquired work skills and techniques are transferable to a variety of career settings. Established to meet the needs of the busy professional, this program was academically designed to be completed within a year, or four college semesters.
