The Gettysburg Campus of Harrisburg Area Community College (HACC) will offer a class on two subordinate generals and their role in the Civil War.

Sickles and Longstreet at Gettysburg will be offered on Wednesday and Thursday, June 9 and 10, from 6 to 9 p.m.

The second day at Gettysburg was not fought according to the plans of either Meade or Lee. Participants will learn how two subordinate generals, Sickles and Longstreet, helped determine the day's outcome.

Students also will see how these two controversial enemies became friends after the war.

The first class will meet at the intersection of Crawford Avenue and Wheatfield Road. The second class will meet in a classroom at the Gettysburg Campus of HACC at 731 Old Harrisburg Road, Gettysburg.

Registration for this class and information on many other community education, professional development, and workforce training classes is available in HACC's Summer 2004 Noncredit Course Schedule available by calling (717) 338-1010 or click on the Website address below.
