More than 30 students from HACC, central Pennsylvania's community college, will entertain Harrisburg Gallery Walk participants this weekend with a demonstration and display of glass, clay and jewelry at the State Museum of Pennsylvania. The Gallery Walk, sponsored by the Art Association of Harrisburg begins at 11am this Sunday, September 12, and continues until 6 p.m.

Cherry Knoblock, a jewelry student, will demonstrate the art of silver wire weaving, which is used to make cuff links and bracelets. In addition, students will demonstrate throwing on the pottery wheel.

"The Gallery Walk is a great opportunity for the students to see their work brought into the hand of the public," says Robert Troxell, art professor for HACC. "It's a chance for them to get some feedback from an authentic retail market."

Joining the students in the exhibit are HACC instructors Jim Lard, Robert Troxell, Pat Frese, Rubin Romero and Doris Slade. Pam Cummings, a local potter and board member of the Pennsylvania Guild of Craftsmen, will exhibit her Asian influenced pottery as well.
