Several one-session classes specifically for those starting or already operating their own business are coming up at the Institute for Entrepreneurial Studies at HACC, Central Pennsylvania's Community College.

Business Plan Financial Projections for Entrepreneurs is scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 17, 6-9 p.m., at the Institute for Entrepreneurial Studies located at Three Penn Center, Suite 237, 349 Wiconisco Street, Harrisburg.

For those starting a business, knowing how to prepare projections is mandatory for success. This seminar includes instruction and discussion of the process of preparing financial projections for a business plan that is sufficiently detailed and realistic.

Entrepreneurship: Making the Right Choice is on Wednesday, Dec. 1, 6-9 p.m. Many men and women considering starting a business want to make the right choices that lead to success; however, they may not be sure whether to start their own business from scratch, buy an existing one, or purchase a franchise.

This course will teach participants how to evaluate the feasibility of their business concept or help determine what type of business might be most appropriate for them, including the ability to generate revenues.

Finding Information on the Internet is offered on Wednesday, Dec. 8, 6-9 p.m. This workshop is designed to provide participants with the tools to systematically and efficiently search the Internet for information.

They will be introduced to the Internet and learn things they should know before beginning an Internet search, as well as different search strategies, types of search tools, a method to evaluate visited web pages, several style sheets for citing Internet and electronic resources, and a glossary of Internet and Web jargon.

The Institute for Entrepreneurial Studies is an economic development effort for HACC and also features a Business Start-up Center, offering free counseling with business professionals, and Women's Marketplace, which offers free marketing advice for women with businesses from concept to three years old.

First Monday is a two-hour program taught the first Monday of each month and covering the regulations and requirements of business start-up and information on financing resources for entrepreneurs.
