The Lancaster Campus of Harrisburg Area Community College (HACC) will offer two classes designed to teach basic photography and photographic composition techniques.

Photography 1: Basic 35mm will be offered on eight Tuesdays, March 9-April 20, from 7-9 p.m. The fourth class will be held outside on Saturday, March 27, from 8-10 a.m.

This course is designed for beginners who want to become more knowledgeable in using the 35mm manual camera. Topics include film types, coordinating aperture and shutter speed, lighting, metering and composition. Optional assignments will be given to maximize learning.

Students should bring a 35mm manual camera to class.

Composition in Photographic Artistry will be offered on four Wednesdays, March 10-24, from 7-9 p.m. The last class will be held outside, Saturday, March 27, from 9 a.m. to noon.

In this course students will learn all forms of good composition and see award winning photographs. The course will include landscape, still life, and tabletop set-ups to photograph. Lighting for artistic composition is also included.

Students should bring their own camera.
