Highlighting the traditional cuisine of New Orleans, culinary art students from HACC, Central Pennsylvania's Community College, will create and serve a Creole style dinner on Friday, September 30, from 6 to 8:30 p.m. in the Birch Dining Room, C. Ted Lick Wildwood Conference Center. The last seating is at 8 p.m.

Diners will have their choice of an appetizer, entrée and dessert in the great Creole tradition, served with a salad and bread for the cost of $30 per person. HACC will donate $20 from each admission to the American Red Cross.

"These are second-year students from our Quantity Foods production class who, since the hurricanes, have become very passionate about finding a way to help the victims," explained Timothy Harris, coordinator of HACC's Culinary Institute, referring to the students in charge of the benefit. "They created the dinner's theme and menu, are the managers and chefs and have a budget they must work within."

Anyone interested in attending the dinner should respond with a desired seating time to Patrice Halin, Hall 125, One HACC Drive, Harrisburg, 17110 or send her an email at the address below. If leaving a phone message at 717-780-3248, please include your name and phone number. Checks should be made payable to HACC. Payment guarantees a reservation.
