Just like any energy-producing mechanism, maintenance and a little clean up this time of year is a good thing, including health screenings for yourself. Periodic health screenings help you stay at your physical best and perhaps catch early signs of developing health issues.

The Lancaster Campus of HACC, Central Pennsylvania's Community College, offers free screenings for diabetes and high blood pressure at the annual Health Fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 27, in the Main Building Community Room 222. The Lancaster Campus is located on 1641 Old Philadelphia Pike in Lancaster.

In addition to free screenings for the public, the Health Fair features awareness-promoting information on AIDS, cancer, stress and tobacco use. Health Fair participants also can try on goggles that simulate the effects of driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol.

HACC's Lancaster Campus sponsors the Health Fair in cooperation with the Council on Drug & Alcohol Abuse, the American Cancer Society, Lancaster Mental Health Association, the American Diabetes Association and the Tobacco Free Coalition of Lancaster.
