Come and experience the colors and cultures of traditional dress from around the world at HACC's second annual international fashion show at the college's Harrisburg Campus. Presented by the international students at HACC, the event begins at 6pm on Saturday, April 9, in the Cooper Student Center international room. Dinner and entertainment are included. Proceeds from the event will go to scholarships for international students attending HACC.

"There are many countries represented here at HACC," said Lourdes Molina, an international student from Honduras. Molina is also vice president of HACC's International Awareness Club and coordinator of the international fashion show. "We would like to share these cultural opportunities with the residents here in this area."

Some of the countries represented include African nations, China, Korea, Viet Nam, Iraq, India, Iran, Palestine, Mexico, Croatia and countries of Europe. Local band Zadnja Stanica, a group of HACC students of Croatian background, will entertain with folk music from Croatia during dinner.

Such a cultural event would not be complete without a taste of international cuisine. Local restaurants have contributed international fare served buffet-style. Choices include Mexican from El Rodeo, Thai from Thai Palace, Middle Eastern from Shab's Pitta Stroller as well as others.

"The members of the International Club want to bring a little piece of our homes and share our values and cultures," said Molina. "The mission of the International Awareness club is to create an awareness of other cultures and furthermore to support all foreign students at the college in meeting their education, personal, and social needs."

Tickets for the fashion show are $10 and $5 for students. Advance ticket purchases are recommended. Contact HACC at (717) 780-2403 or stop by the Cooper Student Center room 107-B. Remaining tickets will be available at the door.
