Pennsylvania Governor Ed Rendell has named HACC President Edna V. Baehre, to Pennsylvania's Commission on College and Career Success. The commission is charged with making education a key economic development priority in Pennsylvania.

Baehre is one of three representatives of Pennsylvania higher education institutions on the 18-member commission which includes the Governor. The commission is designed to include a wide spectrum of stakeholders including a bi-partisan representation from the legislature.

The commission is working on recommendations for legislation, regulations and policies for Pennsylvania and is due to issue a final report by next December.

HACC, Central Pennsylvania's Community College, has nearly 17 thousand degree-seeking students and more than 50 thousand participants in workforce training and continuing education programs. HACC is the oldest of Pennsylvania's 14 community colleges.
