The Gettysburg Campus of HACC, Central Pennsylvania's Community College, has planned a day of Adult Living & Learning Seminars perfect for a fall getaway.

The Adult Living & Learning Seminars will be held at the HACC Campus, 731 Old Harrisburg Road, Gettysburg, on Monday, Oct. 9. The day will start with a continental breakfast at 8 a.m. and includes three 1-1/2-hour sessions and buffet luncheon, concluding at 2 p.m. Cost is $45. Registration deadline is Oct. 2.

The event is open to adults of all ages. Each of the three sessions includes nine course offerings. Those registering select a first and second choice for each session.

Session One from 8:30-10 a.m. includes seminars on the following topics: Adams County's Hidden Treasures; Benjamin Franklin in the French and Indian War; Computers Don't "Byte;" Learn How to Knit a Cotton Dishcloth; Lydia Leister and Her Neighbors; Music Appreciation: How to Become a Better Listener; Mystique, Mystery and Magic of Jade; Qigong for Health; and What is Your Color Season?

Session Two from 10:15-11:45 a.m. includes seminars on the following topics: Acupuncture: How it Works, How it Cures; Adams County and the Underground Railroad; Benjamin Franklin in the American Revolution; Computers Don't "Byte;" Learn How to Knit a Hat; Music Appreciation: How to Become a Better Listener; Mystique, Mystery and Magic of Jade; Colored Pencil Techniques on Sheet Music; What is Your Color Season?

Session Three from 12:30-2 p.m. includes seminars on the following topics: Computers Don't "Byte;" Famous Artists with Adams County Connections; Holiday Evergreen Decorations and Their Care; Mystique, Mystery and Magic of Jade; Colored Pencil Techniques on Sheet Music; The Spiritual Beliefs of Benjamin Franklin; We Suffered Also; and Well Care vs. Sick Care.
