Non-professional artists from the Central Pennsylvania region looking for the chance to showcase their talent, take note. HACC, Central Pennsylvania's Community College, has announced a "Call for Entries" in its first-ever Juried Community Art Show planned for the Lancaster Campus.

HACC Lancaster invites all non-professional artists over the age of 18 to submit works for the community exhibit, which will run from November 15 through December 8 in the East Building, Room 203, on the campus at 1641 Old Philadelphia Pike.

"Our intent with this show is to highlight the art work of non-professional artists in our region," said Judith Johnson, a local artist and member of HACC Lancaster's Humanities faculty. "We also want to provide them with a supportive environment for the exchange of ideas."

The basic criteria for all entries are:

  • Two-dimensional art works, any medium, no wider than 36 inches in width.
  • All works on paper must be framed and wired.
  • All works on canvas must be ready wired for hanging (framing is not necessary).

HACC will accept entries on Friday, November 3 and Saturday, November 4 from noon until 2 p.m. in Room 203 on the Lancaster Campus. Members of HACC Lancaster's Art and Humanities faculty will jury the works for content. They will not accept works deemed inappropriate for public viewing.
