The Rose Lehrman Arts Center at the Harrisburg Campus HACC, Central Pennsylvania's Community College, announces it 2006-2007 season and a new exciting collaboration for dance lovers: Susquehanna Valley Dance Series.

The new season at the Rose Lehrman Arts Center features four (4) major professional international dance events; chamber jazz that celebrates the solstice and a bluegrass, old-time mountain music concert; Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet and Forbidden Broadway; plus two fun shows for the family.

"Dance lovers will want to take note of a new offering," says series director, Teri Guerrisi. "We are collaborating with the Strand-Capitol Performing Arts Center in York to offer the first-ever Susquehanna Valley Dance Series. Patrons can purchase a package of dance events at both the Rose Lehrman Arts Center and the Strand and receive special discounts."

"The series idea came up at a brainstorming meeting between Joe Jefcoat, Strand-Capitol President and CEO, and his staff and our staff. We know that dance lovers from both York and Harrisburg are traveling to see the shows that we each present. We want to give dance lovers even more incentive to attend dance presentations at each venue.

"Dance is an underserved performing art in this region with few venues presenting professional dance organizations and performances, like we do at the Strand-Capitol and Rose Lehrman Arts Center," Jefcoat noted. "That's why we're so thrilled to be a part of this collaboration which will hopefully increase the exposure of dance to the region and encourage event attendance at both venues for this art."

The Rose Lehrman Arts Center's dance events this coming season are Tango Fire, Friday, November 10; DanceBrazil, Tuesday, January 23; Sydney Dance Company, Tuesday, March 27; and Ragamala Music and Dance Theater, Thursday, April 12. The Strand-Capitol is presenting Les Grands Ballets Canadiens de Montreal, Tuesday, November 14; and Joffrey Ballet, Wednesday, March 7. The series is only offered by telephone through the Strand-Capitol Box Office at (717) 846-1111.
