Harrisburg, PA – A fire at HACC’s Community Center for Technology and the Arts (CCTA) did minor damage to the roof of the building. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
CCTA is currently undergoing extensive renovations and no students or employees were in the building. Reports indicate that power is out in an area around the building.
The college’s Midtown Site a block away at Third and Reily was not affected by the fire and no classes were being held in CCTA this semester. Classes at all of the college’s other locations – including the Midtown site – continued this afternoon without interruption.
HACC, Central Pennsylvania’s Community College, serves an eight county primary coverage area from campuses in Gettysburg, Harrisburg, Lancaster, Lebanon and York and through online courses offered by the Virtual Campus. The college has enrollments of just over 19 thousand degree-seeking students and also serves more than 50 thousand individuals in workforce training and community education programs.
