HARRISBURG - Mechanicsburg resident Michael Baker has been appointed director of the C. Ted Lick Wildwood Conference Center on the Harrisburg Campus of HACC, Central Pennsylvania's Community College.

Baker is an active member of the Association of Collegiate Conference and Events Directors - International (ACCED-I) and recently nominated for the organization’s Jack Thornton Distinguished Service Award. He joins HACC after 12 years serving as director of conference and event services at Messiah College.

Baker oversees the operation of HACC’s conference center including developing and implementing plans for departmental growth.

Ted Lick Wildwood Conference Center and look forward to serving the Harrisburg community with an amenity-filled venue built on commitment, communication, compassion, hospitality, integrity and stewardship," said Baker. A graduate of Mechanicsburg Area Senior High, Baker has a bachelor’s degree in recreation and park management from Penn State University. He served on the Recreation and Park Management Practitioner Advisory Committee and participated in the mentoring program while at Penn State.

Baker and his wife, Beth, have three children.

The C. Ted Lick Wildwood Conference Center is a state-of-the-art facility reflecting a casual, relaxed atmosphere, with more than 8,000 square feet of attractive, fully-equipped seminar rooms with wireless Internet capability, state-of-the-art audiovisual equipment, executive conference tables with ergonomically designed executive seating and a full banquet menu.

 

The conference center is a member of the Pennsylvania Chamber of Commerce, the Pennsylvania Society of Association Executives, Harrisburg Regional Chamber of Commerce, National Association of Culinary University Food Services, American Society of Association Executives, Unique Venues and Meeting Professionals International.
