PTK students and advisors from Gettysburg Campus
Oct. 30, 2008
GETTYSBURG, PA – Fourteen students from the HACC-Gettysburg Campus were inducted this fall into the Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society for community college students. At the ceremony, two campus advisers received yellow stoles to signify their induction as honorary members into HACC’s Alpha Nu Omega chapter of PTK.
PTK membership invitations are extended to HACC students who have accumulated 12 or more credits toward a degree with a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or higher. Membership in PTK provides students with opportunities for the development of leadership and service, for an intellectual climate for exchange of ideas and ideals, for lively fellowship for scholars, and for stimulation of interest in continuing academic excellence.
The Phi Theta Kappa society was founded in 1918 and now encompasses more than 1600 chapters.
