You don't have to wait until your children turn 18 to send them off to college. Give them an opportunity now to experience a college-level learning environment at one or more of HACC's Kids College Summer Enrichment Programs offered at the Harrisburg and Lancaster Campuses.

"If you have children in grades 3-8 and would like to extend their educational experience, the Kids College Summer Enrichment Program offered by HACC's Office of Community Education may be for you," said Lori Smith-Mitchell, coordinator of HACC's Community Education Center.

Youngsters in grades 3-5 can explore a dozen different courses in art, general interest, math and science during Kids College classes which run from June 16-19 at the Lancaster Campus or June 23-26 at the Harrisburg Campus. The lineup includes arts-related programs of Graphic Design, Cartoons to Comic Strips and Wearable Art; general-interest programs of No Cook Chef, My Computer and Sign It; math-related programs of Money Matters, Creative Construction and EM for Edible Math, and science-related programs of Chemistry Concoctions, Energy Force & Motion and Optical Illusions.

Cost of the sessions is $75 each and the class length is 1 hour and 15 minutes. Sessions are offered between 8 a.m. and noon.

Additional summer programs offered by HACC's Kids' College include:

This session will give participants an overview of the Hospitality and Tourism career field which offers exciting, challenging and satisfying career choices. Cost of this program is $75 per student.

Smith-Mitchell also announced that the Film Making Academy for youth ages 12-17 is back by popular demand with two separate sessions in July at the Harrisburg Campus. The cost $195 per person per session. The Making Movies Academy I runs July 21-24 and Making Movies Academy II runs July 28-31. Participants in these programs will learn through lectures, demonstrations, hands-on activities and a field trip.
