Harrisburg, PA – Jayne B. Abrams, HACC’s executive director of Institutional Advancement and The HACC Foundation, has been named “Fundraising Professional of the Year” by the Central Pennsylvania Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals.

Abrams, of Camp Hill, received the award Nov. 16 during a National Philanthropy Day luncheon at the Sheraton Harrisburg Hershey Hotel.

Abrams joined HACC in March. She has 30 years of professional and volunteer experience in the Greater Harrisburg community, including chief development officer of Family & Children Services of Central Pennsylvania, and director of its subsidiary, ParentWorks formerly Children’s Play Room. She also founded and implemented the United Way of the Capital Region's VolunTEEN program.

Her community involvement includes the board of trustees at Harrisburg Academy and Fredricksen Library, citizen advisory board of Cumberland County Social Services for Children and Youth, Harrisburg Exchange Club, Harrisburg Regional Chamber, Camp Hill Community Foundation, and St. Stephen’s Episcopal Cathedral.

In addition to Abrams, the local AFP chapter recognized Highmark Blue Shield as Corporation of the Year, Michele M. Ridge as Volunteer Fundraiser of the Year and Robert and Donna Pullo as Philanthropists of the Year.

National Philanthropy Day is celebrated each November by more than 100 AFP chapters around the world, with special recognition of the contributions that individuals and organizations make to countless causes and missions in our communities.
