Budget does not have to equal bland meals

LANCASTER – Cutting back may be a necessity these days, but that does not necessarily mean you must settle for unimaginative meals.
HACC’s Lancaster Campus and Weis Markets will offer a way to prepare easy, delicious and nutritious meals with low cost ingredients in an upcoming Cooking with Weis session. “Health Meals on a Budget” is a demonstration presented 6-9 p.m. Wednesday, March 25, at the Culinary Center and Cooking School at the Lancaster Campus, 1641 Old Philadelphia Pike.
Weis Corporate Dietitian Karen Buch will provide a practical and credible approach to making healthy meals while cutting back on costs to make them.
Buch is a registered dietitian and an member of the American Dietetic Association, the Pennsylvania dietetic Association, Food Marketing Institute, and Produce for Better Health Channel Marketing Committee. She was selected as a 2009 Woman of Influence in the Food Industry by The Griffin Report and served as a judge for the 42nd Pillsbury Bakeoff.
Cost for the demonstration and tasting session is $50.
