HACCSTOCK_Copy1 Creative arts festival features popular local bands, student clubs and more

HARRISBURG –  This year’s creative arts festival, HACCSTOCK, at the Harrisburg Campus of HACC, Central Pennsylvania’s Community College, will be a day of peace and music – with a purpose.
Proceeds from the event will go to the Allison Hill Community Center, where young students can gather after school.
HACCSTOCK brings the best of local bands and more from 11 a.m.-8 p.m. Friday, May 8,  on the field in front of the James Evans Physical Education Center on the Harrisburg Campus at One HACC Drive.
“Traditionally students organize an event at the end of the semester to kick back a little before finals begin,” said Sean Fortney, event coordinator and vice president of the Harrisburg Campus Student Government Association. “This year we decided to try something new. Why not share this great music with the public and raise money of a worthwhile project?”
The goal is to raise $6,000 in order to help the Allison Hill Community Center to remodel bathrooms, refinish the basketball court, remodel the kitchen and purchase new appliances.
To help meet that goal, student clubs will be selling food while performers and musicians provide the entertainment. Vendors will be available with food and merchandise. Several inflatable devices will be available for students and community to enjoy. A dunk tank will offer the opportunity to dunk a favorite professor or staff member.
