"Henry V"
Jan. 30, 2009
HARRISBURG — Follow a charismatic King Henry V and his men through the brutality of warfare and their own destinies in an aggressive pursuit of the French crown as can only be told by William Shakespeare.
HACC’s Live at Rose Lehrman Artist Series will present The Bard’s “Henry V” at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 18 in the Rose Lehrman Arts Center theater on the Harrisburg Campus of HACC, Central Pennsylvania’s Community College. The renowned Guthrie Theater and The Acting Company have co-produced this national touring production directed by Davis McCallum.
The Shakespearean epic portrays a young, restless and ambitious King of England, Henry V, who inherits a troubled crown and seeks to secure his position at home by turning the country’s attention abroad, uniting England and France while briefly banishing the civil strife that will long outlive him. Expertly balancing the thrilling heroics of battle with the painful and complex reactions of men who are sometimes unsure of the justice of their causes, Shakespeare offers a rousing, fascinating story about the power of courage and the price of glory.
