GETTYSBURG – Satisfy your thirst for knowledge and meet new friends at the “Living & Learning” seminars presented by the Gettysburg Campus of HACC, Central Pennsylvania’s Community College.

Eighteen different seminars will be offered during the daylong event from 8 a.m.-2 p.m., Monday, Oct. 11, at the campus, 731 Old Harrisburg Road, Gettysburg.

“Living & Learning” includes continental breakfast, buffet luncheon and three 90-minute courses, ranging from history and art to personal enrichment topics.

The cost is $45 with a registration deadline of Oct. 4. After reviewing the courses, participants should select one course for each of the three sessions, listing a second choice as well. Session I (8:30-10 a.m.) – “The Battle of Gettysburg in Historical Art,” “Heart-Throbs Who Span Generations: Rudolph Valentino and James Dean,” “Songs and Stories of the Old West, Part I,” “Senior Crime Prevention,” “Grapes in the Fall,” “The Baltimore Riots of 1812,” “Developing Charisma,” and “Managing Change to Discover the Real You.”

Session II (10:15-11:45 a.m.) – “The Battle of Gettysburg in Historical Art,” “Creating a Literary Monster: The World of Mary Shelley,” “Songs and Stories of the Old West, Part II,” “Storytelling,” “Grapes in the Fall,” “How to Protect Yourself Against Identity Theft,” “Jimmy Stewart on the Air,” “Portrait of an Artist: Georgia O’Keeffe,” and “Genesis of the Star-Spangled Banner.”

Session III (12:30-2 p.m.) – “The Battle of Gettysburg in Historical Art,” “Heart-Throbs Who Span Generations: Rudolph Valentino and James Dean,” “Songs and Stories of the Old West,” “Finding Your Own Story,” “Understanding the Four Generations,” “Grapes in the Fall,” “Jimmy Stewart on the Air,” “Portrait of an Artist: Georgia O’Keeffe,” and “U.S. Ships: The Frigates Constellation and Chesapeake and the Privateer Chasseur.”
