Graduates recognized for academic, clinical achievements

LANCASTER – Graduates of HACC’s associate degree in nursing program at the Lancaster Campus received their nursing pins in a recent ceremony. The 45 graduates successfully completed HACC’s two-year, clinical nursing program and are now qualified to take the state licensure exam to become registered nurses (RNs).
Several graduating students were recognized during the ceremony:
§Michelle Folkenroth of Dallastown received the Terry Regitz Spirit of Nursing Award for her compassion, dedication, professional integrity, strength, courage and optimism.
  • Tameka Johnson of Lancaster received the Good Samaritan Health System Award for Excellence in Patient Advocacy and Satisfaction for providing excellent education to patients regarding health promotion and safety and who collaborates with the multidisciplinary team in planning appropriate interventions for patient needs.
  • Lauren Stewart of Manheim received the Heart of Lancaster Regional Medical Center Award for Compassionate Nursing Care for outstanding care to patients and families.
  • Stephanie Jurasinski of Denver received the Lancaster Regional Medical Center Award for Leadership for her demonstrated leadership in the clinical practice setting.
  • Michael Gilmore of York and Danielle Read of Dover received the Nursing Faculty Award for Academic Achievement for achieving the highest overall cumulative grade in the nursing theory courses.
  • Holly McGee of Denver received the Nursing Faculty Award for Exemplary Nursing Practice for consistently exhibiting exemplary behavior in the classroom and in the clinical area throughout the two-year nursing program.
  • Angela Evans of Mount Joy received the Sara J. Sigafoos Memorial Award for Clinical Excellence for demonstrating excellence in interpersonal communication, assessment, documentation and technical skills.

HACC also offers a certificate (one-year) licensed practical nursing (LPN) program at the Lancaster Campus. In addition, the Harrisburg and Gettysburg campuses of HACC provide an associate degree in nursing and a certificate in practical nursing programs. Lebanon and York campuses offer the associate degree program.
