HARRISBURG – If you are in the job market, looking for a career change or a student trying to arrange an internship, you may find the right employer at the annual spring job and internship fair at the Harrisburg Campus of HACC, Central Pennsylvania’s Community College.

The two-day event features employers at two locations. Admission to the fair for students, alumni and the community alike on both days is free.

More than 50 non-trades employers from around the region will be at the fair from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Wednesday, April 13, in the C. Ted Lick Wildwood Conference Center on the campus, One HACC Drive.

Industrial and manufacturing companies will meet with prospective employees in trades and technology 1-5 p.m. Thursday, April 14, at HACC’s Midtown 2, 1500 N. Third St. This would include employers in fields such as architecture, engineering, mechatronics (industrial maintenance), HVAC, welding and computers – like computer networks – web and geospacial information systems.

Attendees at Midtown are invited to a presentation at 5 p.m. about two new “green” programs, alternative energy and green building/architecture technology scheduled to start this fall.

“The job and internship fair is a worthwhile event for students and the community to contact employers, network and explore career avenues in their field of study or interest,” said Nick Giordano, career services specialist at the Harrisburg Campus. “Whether you are a student getting ready for graduation in May or are already employed, this is the time to take advantage of focusing on your future.”

Participants should dress professionally and bring multiple copies of their resume. The fair is an opportunity to meet potential employers and could result in on-the-spot job interviews and possible hiring. Many companies are looking to fill full- and part-time positions in a variety of jobs, including entry level and experienced workers, Giordano said.

Internships also are a key to future success and, therefore, also a crucial aspect of the job fair, he added.
