WHO: More than 530 students from HACC, Central Pennsylvania’s Community College, will walk at Commencement to receive associate degrees, diplomas or certificates
WHAT: HACC’s Spring 2019 Commencement ceremony

COVERAGE: HACC President John J. “Ski” Sygielski, Ed.D., will confer degrees, diplomas and certificates to HACC students.

Among the graduates are Jacqueline Bleich and Michael Riggs.
 
Student speaker Bleich of Lancaster is graduating with an associate degree in communication. She attended HACC’s Lancaster Campus.
 
Bleich said, “HACC has made a difference in my life by giving me an opportunity to go to college, find a job on campus, be an advocate as a Student Ambassador and seek a career that I’m interested in doing.”
 
She plans to continue her education at Millersville University in Lancaster to obtain her bachelor’s degree in media and broadcasting.
 
Riggs of Cashtown is graduating with an associate degree in general studies from HACC prior to earning his high school diploma from Gettysburg Area High School. He attended HACC’s Gettysburg Campus.
 
Riggs serves as treasurer for the Battlefield FFA chapter at Gettysburg Area High School and plans to run for Pennsylvania State FFA Office after graduation. If not elected or at term completion, he will continue his education at Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, Oklahoma, and pursue a dual major in animal science and agricultural education. Due to his earned credits at HACC, Riggs hopes to obtain his bachelor and master’s degrees in four years.
 
The Commencement ceremony sponsor is AAA Central Penn.
