Welcome to HACC! Our mission with HACC's orientation programs is to help you smoothly transition into college life. The New Student Orientation team will equip you with the skills and knowledge you need to succeed and navigate college.

New Student Orientation is a mandatory and important part of your educational journey. After activating your myHACC account and HAWKMail, you will receive an email from YOUR Onboarding Coach with instructions on your next steps to enrollment.
HACC offers both in person and remote Level Up sessions to fit your busy schedule!
During the session, we will cover:
- HACC policies and your rights as a HACC student
- Student resources and services
- Financial aid and paying for school
- Tips to navigate HACC technologies (pdf)
- Next steps to enrollment
- Tips for academic success
- How to get involved at HACC
All of HACC’s Level Up sessions are open to friends and family of our students.
Before YOUR Level Up
To get the most out of your New Student Orientation, you’ll need to complete a few tasks in advance:
- Check your HAWKMail account daily for important updates from HACC.
- Submit documentation of high school completion or its equivalent, along with your transcripts. These documents should be sent to admissionsrecords@hacc.edu, and must be submitted before you can receive financial aid.
- Make sure you have a plan to pay for school. Or, learn more about HACC payment plan options.
- Check for placement exemptions.
- Set up your account in Navigate to review your new student checklist.
- Check out our tips and tricks or watch our Zoom video tutorials if you are attending New Student Orientation online.
For a remote Level Up, please:
- Make sure you are on a computer so you can register for classes.
- Log in to the session from your HACC Zoom account (located in your myHACC portal).
For an in-person Level Up, please:
After YOUR Level UP
You’re almost ready to start at HACC! Before your first day of class, be sure to:
- Return to your new student onboarding course in Brightspace/D2L to earn your completion badge.
- Talk to a career coach to find out more about your program and possible career options.
- Confirm your financial aid through your myHACC student portal.
- Get your HACC ID and parking pass.
- Purchase textbooks and required course materials at the HACC Bookstore.
- Check YOUR HAWKMail for an email with more information about Smart Start events.
Are you a Dual Enrollment or College in the High School student?
- Check your HAWKMail account daily for important updates from HACC, including how to schedule a Dual Enrollment Orientation.
- Attend a Dual Enrollment/College in the High School New Student Orientation or complete the self-paced online course in Brightspace/D2L.
- Meet with a success coach to register for classes.
*If you are a College in the High School student, you will receive an email from successcoach@hacc.edu when it’s time to register for classes.
- Make sure you have a plan to pay for school, including HACC payment plan options.
- Purchase textbooks and required course materials at the HACC Bookstore.
- Email successcoach@hacc.edu for assistance.

New Student Orientation Office Hours
Please note change in hours for March 20, 2025:
Our New Student Orientation office will close early on March 20, 2025, at noon to accommodate scheduled training. We will provide our normal REMOTE SERVICES ONLY hours on March 21.
- On-campus and remotely (varies) Monday -Thursday 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
- Fridays REMOTE SERVICES ONLY 9 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
- Level Up orientations and Dual Enrollment Orientations are by appointment only
